Optex iVision 2-Way Intercom System with Video
The Optex iVision 2-Way Intercom System with Video is great for those who would like to know who’s at the door before they answer it. This is a video surveillance camera that acts as a doorbell, video & image capture device, and an intercom all-in-one!
This system features two devices. One device is the doorbell/camera part that you put by your front door where your regular doorbell would be. The second part of the kit is a viewing mechanism that can be hand-held or placed on it’s charging dock.
The great thing about the Optex iVision 2-Way Intercom System with Video is that when someone rings your doorbell; video capture is instantly initiated and you can view the person standing on your door step. You may then go answer your door or you may press the intercom button to start a two-way conversation with them.
This unit also works when you are away from home. When someone rings your doorbell when you’re away the camera captures a picture of them for you so that you may see who visited while you were at the grocery store or wherever you happen to be.
I would definitely recommend this for seniors or for families with young children.
LT Surveillance Camera System Kit – H.264 DVR Eight Camera Kit
The LT Surveillance Camera System Kit – H.264 DVR Eight Camera Kit is truly a great surveillance system for those who want to keep an eye on their homes or businesses. The cameras are good for use indoors or outdoors and have night vision capability.
The DVR in this kit makes it easy for you to view your cameras from any location. With a little knowledge about setting up port forwarding on your router, which can be garnered from a quick Google search, you’ll be able to watch what’s going on at your home or business anywhere in the world. You can view the cameras through a browser interface or on Windows Mobile, Symbian and iPhone! The DVR can also, depending on the recording resolution, record up to a month’s worth of footage uninterrupted . At the end of its recording time the DVR will overwrite itself. The storage in the DVR is a 500 GB hard drive and it will store plenty of footage. It will also send email alerts that you can configure in the configurartion menu. A very neat little piece of equipment. You can also configure it to record on motion so, in the right situation, you can save some of your hard drive space by only recording when you need it to.
This unit also has output triggers that you can wire into you alarm panel so that when motion is triggered it will set the alarm off.
The cameras that come with the kit are good for indoor and outdoor use. They have night vision and the manufacturer says they have 49ft effective range, but I would cut that in half just so as to not disappoint anyone. This is a very good system in my opinion and I would definitely get one for my house.
