Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector
- Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector
The Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector is a new addition to our line up of Honeywell wireless products.
This is very handy little unit that allows you to monitor the temperature in the location that you are using it in. It has five different temperature detection ranges and they are as follows:
• Cold Temperature Detector 45° F
– When temperature drops below
45° F for >10 minutes
• Warm Temperature Detector 75° F
– When temperature rises above
75° F for >10 minutes
• Hot Temperature Detector 95° F
– When temperature rises above
95° F for >10 minutes
• Refrigerator Failure Detector 42° F
– When temperature rises above
42° F for >30 minutes
• Freezer Failure Detector 10° F
– When temperature rises above
10° F for >30 minutes
The Honeywell 5821 also has a remote temperature probe, the T280R, that you can wire into the 5821 that allows you to put the extension probe in a place like a freezer or refrigerator to monitor if the location has a temperature drop. Never lose food to spoilage from temperature failure again!!
Not only can you monitor temperature with the Honeywell 5821, but you can, with the addition of the 470PB probe, use this to detect flood conditions in areas such as basements, bathrooms, and anywhere else that a flood condition could prove disastrous.
A great add-on to your system!! Once again, Honeywell alarm systems are for just catching burglars anymore.
The GE Simon XT Starter Kit Version 1.X
We have acquired a lot of the original Simon XT version 1 panels at a great price!! The Version 1 panels are what GE first came out with when they introduced the Simon XT as an upgrade from the Simon 3.
The Simon XT version 1 is a 40 zone, totally wireless system that makes installing a breeze. The panel voice announces all alarm conditions that occur. This panel also has the ability, if a land-line phone line is wired into it, to call four numbers for self-monitoring purposes. This means that if you want the panel to call out to your cell phone instead of a central station monitoring service; then you can do it. When the panel calls out to your cell phone; it will voice aanounce just like it does at the panel itself.
Learning devices into the programming of the panel is a snap. All you do is either send a signal from the device that you’re trying to learn into the Simon XT or input the serial number into the panel via the keypad.
GE has many wireless devices for this panel ranging anywhere from burglary devices to fire protection. We usually recommend this system to people who aren’t very tech savvy because it is the easiest system we have in our stock to set up. Perfect for the elderly because of its ease of setup, use, and the fact that it speaks what is going on with it!
PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR
The PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR is one of latest and greatest!! This is a sneaky way to keep tabs on your household. This security camera with built-in DVR capabilities looks just like a normal PIR motion detector.
This motion detector is an actual motion detector!! It will trigger upon movement. It can be compared to a hunter trap camera in the way that it works. The unit accepts a multi-media SD card. It will accept up to a 32 GB SD card to take still photos and video footage.
You can also continuously record as well with this tiny security guard!! Doing this might eat up some space on the SD card, but it’s capable of doing it. This feature could be used for those 2 hour shopping excursions or when you go across town to visit family.
The recording resolution of this unit is a whopping 1280 x 720. Which means that it can be easily and clearly viewed on a bigger monitor with no distortion. The PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR comes with a USB cable so that you can transfer footage and motion captured pictures directly to your computer.
All-in-all this is a great, inexpensive way to keep an eye on your premises without breaking your wallet on a big security camera setup.
LT Security IR Illuminator Lamp
The LT Security IR Illuminator Lamp is a great add-on for anyone who has a surveillance camera system that has cameras that have night-vision.
A lot of cameras have around 30-90 ft. If you have cameras that have night vision and you’re not completely happy with the coverage that they get at night, then this is the item for you! The IR Illuminator Lamp has 198 LED IRs and will light up the night. It will give you an additional 200 ft. of night vision.
Now instead of seeing just to the edge of your property; you can see across the road. This IR Lamp will also make it a whole lot easier for you to pick out detail of footage taken at night because it will light up the area just as if it were day time. Just mount this anywhere in a centralized zone of your cameras and watch the night-time come alive!
I am, personally, happy to have this addition come along because I have cameras and now my cameras will really be able to do what I need them to do. I would recommend this to anyone with cameras or for anyone deciding to get some.
Now Offering Honeywell Total Connect Video Service
That’s right!! We are now offering Honeywell’s Total Connect Video service. We are very proud to have this as addition to our already great line of monitoring options.
Almost everyone now-a-days has heard of Honeywell’s Total Connect service on television. The service allows people to have monitoring service through a GSM cellular communicator which also allows them to remotely control their alarm system as well. Well, Honeywell also offers as an add-on or standalone service the Total Connect Video service. This service, with the use of Honeywell Total Connect Video equipment, allows subscribers to remotely view their location from anywhere in the world.
Whether it be from a PC, Ipad, Smartphone, etc.; you can now have the piece of mind that comes from being able to view your location while you’re away. The cameras run on a secure network and you never have to worry about anyone other than you, or those you give permission, accessing your cameras.
A very nice addition to your monitoring or a great new way to insure the security of your home!
You can go HERE to learn more about the video service as well as the Total Connect monitoring service.

Honeywell 5883H Wireless Tranceiver
The Honeywell 5883H Wireless Tranceiver is for those who have alarm systems and have areas in their location that can’t be easily wired. If you have a wired system and a finished home then this add-on can help you expand your systems capability greatly.
The Ademco 5883H is a receiver and transmitter combined into one unit. Honeywell claims that this is a combination of the 5881ENH receiver and a 5800TM transmitter module. In a manner it is but there is a difference. The 5883H not only can handle the wireless transmitters in the 5800 series but it also can handle the 5839 keypads and any other Honeywell wireless device that accepts a site ID from the 5883H. Most wireless devices work on an RF House Code from the Vista panels, but some require retrieving a site ID from the receiver.
Honeywell’s website site states the a 5883H is nothing more than the combination of a 5881ENH and a 5800TM. This is not the case however because using a 5881ENH and a 5800TM together is not enough for devices that require a site ID. The duo of the receiver and the transmitter will not provide devices with a site ID. The 5883H is the only one that can. Also the 6160RF keypad, which Honeywell claims contains the same thing as a 5883H, will only work with those devices that operate on RF house code and not with devices that accept a site ID.
If you are looking for an all-in-one transceiver then the 5883H is for you!
Optex RCTD20U Wireless 2000 Entry Alert Kit
The Optex RCTD20U Wireless 2000 Entry Alert Kit is great for those that would like to know who’s outside their house before they even reach the house. This transmitter and receiver set will do that for you!!
The Optex RCTD20U Wireless 2000 Entry Alert Kit has a RC-20 receiver unit and one TD-20U transmitter. The Rc-20 can pick up signals from up to three TD-20Us. This means that if you have a horseshoe style driveway; you can cover both entrances to your home.
The transmitters can be set to shoot a single beam or you can have it shoot out a fan pattern. You can create a barrier or catch anything in a radius of the fan pattern. It also has selectable chime tones.
This unit, the RC-20, can also trigger lights, sirens, etc. via a relay. This means that you can wire this into a zone on your alarm system.
All-in-all this is a very handy piece of equipment to have to keep you informed about traffic coming onto your property.
Optex iVision 2-Way Intercom System with Video
The Optex iVision 2-Way Intercom System with Video is great for those who would like to know who’s at the door before they answer it. This is a video surveillance camera that acts as a doorbell, video & image capture device, and an intercom all-in-one!
This system features two devices. One device is the doorbell/camera part that you put by your front door where your regular doorbell would be. The second part of the kit is a viewing mechanism that can be hand-held or placed on it’s charging dock.
The great thing about the Optex iVision 2-Way Intercom System with Video is that when someone rings your doorbell; video capture is instantly initiated and you can view the person standing on your door step. You may then go answer your door or you may press the intercom button to start a two-way conversation with them.
This unit also works when you are away from home. When someone rings your doorbell when you’re away the camera captures a picture of them for you so that you may see who visited while you were at the grocery store or wherever you happen to be.
I would definitely recommend this for seniors or for families with young children.
