Winland TA-40 Fixed Temperature Switch
The Winland TA-40 Fixed Temperature Switch is primarily used for temperature controlled structures that are in areas that get below freezing at times. The TA-40 will open a “normally closed” dry contact if the temperature falls below 39 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius), this means that it can be hooked to an existing alarm system or used in conjunction with a voice dialer to make a call or simply just hooked to a siren or light to notify the neighbors. This way you can enjoy your trip to the beach this winter with the satisfaction of knowing that your fish aquarium won’t be a giant ice-cube when you return and your water pipes didn’t bust.
The Winland company has been a leader in its field since 1972 and is Proudly made right here in the USA and offers everything from the TA-40 Temperature Switch to Water and Flood Sensors with a whole lot in between.

Smoke Detector Tester Model 25S
Smoke Detector Tester Model 25S or “Canned Smoke” is a very valuable tool in making sure your alarm system’s fire sensors are up and running problem free, and are ready to detect. Most of the time, issues with smoke detectors are discovered too late but, by giving them a weekly test, you could save yourself a ton of money in damaged and destroyed homes, personal property within the home, and even the lives of your loved ones and yourself.
These little, two and a half ounce aerosol containers, contain 200 + sprays for each test, that means that if you tested your system once a week, one can would last almost two years for each smoke detector… definitely worth saving a life.
The Smoke Detector Tester Model 25S will trigger both “Ionization Detectors” and “Photoelectric Detectors” and has little to no odor at all so you won’t be stinking the place up every time you test your detectors. For under $10.00 a can, there’s NO reason every family shouldn’t own at least one can of smoke…. Is your family worth it?
Elk 110/120 Siren Drivers
Elk Products have a few siren drivers that can be used to push a speaker where a siren is needed.
The two most common are the Elk-110 and the Elk-120.
1) The Elk-110 is a talking voice driver that produces quality pre-recorded voice messages and a siren. The 110 is a low current draw add-on and features three input channels One for Burglar, One for Fire, and One for Carbon Monoxide, it also plays either English or Spanish, and many unique options which allow it to be used with virtually any residential or commercial alarm System.
2) The ELK-120 features 4 channels that can be configured as 2 channels of siren and 2 channels of voice, or all 4 channels can be used for voice. Either way the voice channels are fully recordable with a total recording time of 8 minutes. The Siren channels offer a choice of a Yelp Sound, Temporal Coded Horn, or Pulsing Industrial Horn. The siren sounds can be triggered in together with the voice channels. The channels can be configured to play once or to repeat endlessly. Two channels support the unique “ComboTrigger” feature, designed for controls that have a single output with a pulsing option for fire or burglary. When pulsed, the Temporal Coded Horn fire signal is sounded.
Either one of these Elk Siren Drivers would definitely add a unique, attention-getting sound for your Alarm System. If you’d like to read up on ELK some more, you can go HERE
DSC PC 5601 Status Module
The DSC PC5601 Status Module is a hardwired connection that allows you to see the status of your DSC Power Series alarm system from outdoors and away from the keypad. The status light is especially convenient when using key chain remotes or “key fobs” ….. those of you that use key fobs know what I mean, you get in your vehicle to pull away and grab your remote to arm your system but, there is always that “what if” feeling – did it arm? This will drive you crazy but, with the status light, you just need to look and see what color the LED is….
Green = Ready to Arm
Red = System is armed
Amber = System has been in alarm
It’s nice to come home and see the LED is still red… this way you know that no one has violated your space while you were away and if it’s amber or orange, you know it might not be safe to enter.
Another nice plus to the DSC PC5601 Status Module is that not only can YOU see the LED… so can the crook, and if a bright red light is flashing outside of his next target, chances are he’s gonna skip you and hit a different house. For less than $25.00, the PC5601 is a must have for anyone enjoying the reliability of the DSC Power Series. You can check out more of DSC’s great products at their website HERE
Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal
We are soon to be bringing Honeywell’s Total Connect Video Service to our already great monitoring options. The Honeywell Total Connect Video service is a stand-alone service that you can use without a monitoring contract. There is a service fee required to use it but you don’t have to have monitoring to use it. Now you can view your premises while you are away via any internet connection and because of Honeywell’s secure server; you won’t ever have to worry about anyone else being able to access it.
The Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal is the hub of your home’s Total Connect Video feature. This operates just like a Wi-Fi switch that connects to a port on your router. This will bring all your cameras, whether you have them wired or wireless, together.
When you connect this to your router the router needs to be configured to be a DHCP server for this device. The Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal will then, if your router is configured for port-forwarding, allow you to remotely view your cameras.
We are excited to be able to offer this as a choice for people who want the remote video that everyone these days is so ready to use.
The Tane Pistol Pad
The Pistol Pad by Tane, Inc. is something that we are proud to offer because its potential to make home protection safer and more effective.
The Pistol Pad is a unique device that lets you keep your gun out in the open and not have to worry about a burglar grabbing it and shooting you or a child accidentally grabbing the gun and shooting themselves. We do still recommend putting it out of the reach of children, but even if your toddler happens to move this it will set off a siren in your panel.
The pad works with any standard wireless transmitter that has terminals to wire in Normally Closed/Open contacts. You remove the base on the bottom and attach your transmitter and then enroll the transmitter into your alarm panel with a panic zone type. Re-secure the base and then take the circular key and unlock the mechanism that goes through a pistol’s trigger hole. Place your pistol on the pad and run the magnetic contact through the trigger and secure it in the opening on the pad. You then lock the mechanism with the key and you are set and ready for total home protection.
Whenever the pistol is removed without the lock being disengaged; an alarm will sound through your panel and a siren will sound. If you have alarm monitoring you can label that zone with them so they will call the police and tell them that a firearm has been deployed. Also, because of the tamper switch on the bottom of the unit, if someone tries to pick up the whole pad and pistol; an alarm will also be issued.
We definitely recommend this for anyone who owns a firearm and has an alarm system where wireless transmitters can be used. We think that this will cut down on accidental deaths and violent crimes in households were alarm systems are used.
Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit
The Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit is Honeywell’s way of bringing you two great products in one money-saving package! This kit is a combination of a standard Ademco 6160 Alpha Numeric Keypad and a 5883H Transceiver. If you would like to add a second keypad to your system, add the ability for your hard-wire system to incorporate wireless devices, and save some money then this is the kit for you.
The 6160 Alpha Keypad is great because it not only reads out zone numbers, but you can add labels for it to read out as well so that you don’t have to guess what is on zone number ’06′. The keypad features, as you can see from the picture, a numeric keypad and four function buttons. Programming is a breeze with the 6160 because it displays words and makes finding your way through programming very easy.
The 5883H is a transmitter and receiver all-in-one, hence the name transceiver. This transceiver not only works with devices on the RF house Code but can also work with devices, such as the 5839 keypad, that use a site ID number. The 5883H is great for when you want to add bi-directional devices like the 5839 or the 5804BD key-chain remote.
This also works in conjunction with Ademco’s 5800RP repeater module if you need to extend the range of your wireless devices. The Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit is a great addition to add more power to your Honeywell system.

Honeywell GSMV Cellular Communicator
The Honeywell GSMV Cellular Communicator is a great way for you to add full contact ID reporting over GSM to a central station monitoring service. You can use this unit as a backup to your existing land-line or for primary reporting. This unit handles Contact ID reporting using ECP mode with compatible Honeywell control panels or combined with optional dialer capture for non-ECP capable control panels. Dialer capture mode means that it pulls the signal from your panels phone line connections. That means that instead of hooking into your ECP terminals, where your keypads hook into, you can have it report this way as well.
This unit should be used with Honeywell panels but you could also use this on another panel where you could use the dialer capture mode.
Not only does the GSMV report fully to a central station, but it also gives the owner of the alarm system the capability, for an extra fee and added peripherals, to communicate with the central station via two-way voice communication. This will give you piece of mind especially if the alarm system is installed in a residence that has an elderly person living there. They can talk with the station operator in case of a medical emergency.
A very good unit that will give you piece of mind if you have worries about someone cutting your phone line or if you have no phone line at all.
