Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector

Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector
Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector

The Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector is a new addition to our line up of Honeywell wireless products.

This is very handy little unit that allows you to monitor the temperature in the location that you are using it in. It has five different temperature detection ranges and they are as follows:

• Cold Temperature Detector 45° F
– When temperature drops below
45° F for >10 minutes
• Warm Temperature Detector 75° F
– When temperature rises above
75° F for >10 minutes
• Hot Temperature Detector 95° F
– When temperature rises above
95° F for >10 minutes
• Refrigerator Failure Detector 42° F
– When temperature rises above
42° F for >30 minutes
• Freezer Failure Detector 10° F
– When temperature rises above
10° F for >30 minutes

The Honeywell 5821 also has a remote temperature probe, the T280R, that you can wire into the 5821 that allows you to put the extension probe in a place like a freezer or refrigerator to monitor if the location has a temperature drop. Never lose food to spoilage from temperature failure again!!

Not only can you monitor temperature with the Honeywell 5821, but you can, with the addition of the 470PB probe, use this to detect flood conditions in areas such as basements, bathrooms, and anywhere else that a flood condition could prove disastrous.

A great add-on to your system!! Once again, Honeywell alarm systems are for just catching burglars anymore.

WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator

WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator

WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator

The WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator is the latest release from IPDatatel. This works just like their regular IPBAT but instead of connecting the panel to a router via ethernet cable; this version is a two piece unit. One piece wires into your control panel and then you take the wireless gateway and attach it to your router. This will give the module the ability to communicate back and forth without a long run of ethernet cable.

It gives you all of the functionality of the original IP BAT and none of the hassle of running ethernet cable through the house.

You still get the ability to go online and sign in, through any web browser, and set up your contact list, review your systems event log, and access the system through the virtual keypad.

The contact list you set up can be contacted by automated phone call, email, or text message and whichever method you choose for notifications; you will see or hear exactly what is being triggered.

The virtual keypad that you get can be used for anything that you can do on the real keypad such as programming, bypassing zones, arming, disarming, adding user codes, deleting user codes, etc. It even resembles the keypad that is on your system.

You can also download an app for your iPhone or Android that works as a simple numeric keypad that you can use as a key fob to arm and disarm your system. Say that you get down the street and remembered that you forgot to arm your system. Well, before the WiFi-IPBAT you had to drive all the way back home and arm it. Not anymore. With the app for your smart phone, all you have to do is pull out your phone, go to the app, and arm your system.

This is a really great product and we have quite a few people using it now. We can’t wait to see more developments from IPDatatel in the future because being such a young company; they have really come out with a great device for today’s technologically savvy alarm system owner.

Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal

Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal

Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal

We are soon to be bringing Honeywell’s Total Connect Video Service to our already great monitoring options. The Honeywell Total Connect Video service is a stand-alone service that you can use without a monitoring contract. There is a service fee required to use it but you don’t have to have monitoring to use it. Now you can view your premises while you are away via any internet connection and because of Honeywell’s secure server; you won’t ever have to worry about anyone else being able to access it.

The Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal is the hub of your home’s Total Connect Video feature. This operates just like a Wi-Fi switch that connects to a port on your router. This will bring all your cameras, whether you have them wired or wireless, together.

When you connect this to your router the router needs to be configured to be a DHCP server for this device. The Honeywell WAP Wireless Access Portal will then, if your router is configured for port-forwarding, allow you to remotely view your cameras.

We are excited to be able to offer this as a choice for people who want the remote video that everyone these days is so ready to use.

The Tane Pistol Pad

The Pistol Pad by Tane

The Pistol Pad by Tane

The Pistol Pad by Tane, Inc. is something that we are proud to offer because its potential to make home protection safer and more effective.

The Pistol Pad is a unique device that lets you keep your gun out in the open and not have to worry about a burglar grabbing it and shooting you or a child accidentally grabbing the gun and shooting themselves. We do still recommend putting it out of the reach of children, but even if your toddler happens to move this it will set off a siren in your panel.

The pad works with any standard wireless transmitter that has terminals to wire in Normally Closed/Open contacts. You remove the base on the bottom and attach your transmitter and then enroll the transmitter into your alarm panel with a panic zone type. Re-secure the base and then take the circular key and unlock the mechanism that goes through a pistol’s trigger hole. Place your pistol on the pad and run the magnetic contact through the trigger and secure it in the opening on the pad. You then lock the mechanism with the key and you are set and ready for total home protection.

Whenever the pistol is removed without the lock being disengaged; an alarm will sound through your panel and a siren will sound. If you have alarm monitoring you can label that zone with them so they will call the police and tell them that a firearm has been deployed.  Also, because of the tamper switch on the bottom of the unit, if someone tries to pick up the whole pad and pistol; an alarm will also be issued.

We definitely recommend this for anyone who owns a firearm and has an alarm system where wireless transmitters can be used. We think that this will cut down on accidental deaths and violent crimes in households were alarm systems are used.

Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit

Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit

Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit

The Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit is Honeywell’s way of bringing you two great products in one money-saving package! This kit is a combination of a standard Ademco 6160 Alpha Numeric Keypad and a 5883H Transceiver. If you would like to add a second keypad to your system, add the ability for your hard-wire system to incorporate wireless devices, and save some money then this is the kit for you.

The 6160 Alpha Keypad is great because it not only reads out zone numbers, but you can add labels for it to read out as well so that you don’t have to guess what is on zone number ’06′. The keypad features, as you can see from the picture, a numeric keypad and four function buttons. Programming is a breeze with the 6160 because it displays words and makes finding your way through programming very easy.

The 5883H is a transmitter and receiver all-in-one, hence the name transceiver.  This transceiver not only works with devices on the RF house Code but can also work with devices, such as the 5839 keypad, that use a site ID number. The 5883H is great for when you want to add bi-directional devices like the 5839 or the 5804BD key-chain remote.

This also works in conjunction with Ademco’s 5800RP repeater module if you need to extend the range of your wireless devices. The Ademco 6160 Alpha Keypad/5883H Transceiver Combo Kit is a great addition to add more power to your Honeywell system.

Honeywell GSMV Cellular Communicator

Honeywell GSMV Cellular Communicator

Honeywell GSMV Cellular Communicator

The Honeywell GSMV Cellular Communicator is a great way for you to add full contact ID reporting over GSM to a central station monitoring service. You can use this unit as a backup to your existing land-line or for primary reporting. This unit handles Contact ID reporting using ECP mode with compatible Honeywell control panels or combined with optional dialer capture for non-ECP capable control panels. Dialer capture mode means that it pulls the signal from your panels phone line connections. That means that instead of hooking into your ECP terminals, where your keypads hook into, you can have it report this way as well.

This unit should be used with Honeywell panels but you could also use this on another panel where you could use the dialer capture mode.

Not only does the GSMV report fully to a central station, but it also gives the owner of the alarm system the capability, for an extra fee and added peripherals, to communicate with the central station via two-way voice communication. This will give you piece of mind especially if the alarm system is installed in a residence that has an elderly person living there. They can talk with the station operator in case of a medical emergency.

A very good unit that will give you piece of mind if you have worries about someone cutting your phone line or if you have no phone line at all.

Honeywell GSMVLP5 For Lynx Touch

Honeywell GSMVLP5 GSM Cellular Communicator For Lynx Touch

Honeywell GSMVLP5 GSM Cellular Communicator For Lynx Touch

The Honeywell GSMVLP5 for the new Lynx Touch alarm system is only compatible with this system. It gives Lynx Touch users the ability to get rid of their land-line phone lines for communicating to a central station monitoring service.

If the only thing that you are keeping your land-line for is your Lynx Touch alarm system then this will let you get rid of it totally. The Honeywell GSMVLP5 will allow your Honeywell Lynx Touch to communicate with a central station monitoring service through the GSM cell phone frequency.

Installation is a snap and the unit is plug and play with a couple of programming changes of course. You just pop open the front cover of the Lynx Touch, attach in the GSM module in the provided space with the three screws provided, enable the GSM, configure alarm reporting and module supervision, and register the device.

Most monitoring services offer two-way voice communication and with the GSMVLP5 you’ll be able to take advantage of that feature. With the two-way voice feature; if your alarm goes off and calls the central station then they in turn can talk back to you to see if everything is alright. You don’t need any other add-on because of the Lynx Touch’s built in microphone.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to get rid of the land-line telephone line or if they’d like a backup just in case of phone trouble.
