Elk 150RT 30 Watt Outdoor Tamper Proof Siren
The ELK 150RT is an excellent choice for anyone who wants an outdoor rated siren for the alarm system. It is a siren that is encased in a stainless steel cabinet. It features two reed switches that act as tamper switches. When someone tries to remove the siren so that they may stop the 118db scream of this little beauty it sets off a fault in the system it’s wired to so that if the panel is programmed to call out to you or a central station; this will definitely let you or the central know that someone’s up to no good.
It also has a combo trigger which allows the siren to have two different sounds for fire and burglary from a single alarm output.
You can also purchase the ELK-45 Self-Contained Siren which is the self-contained siren that doesn’t have the stainless enclosure. You can also add the ELK-SL1 12V Strobe Light to the enclosure.
A very nice addition to any wired alarm system.
LT Surveillance Camera System Kit – H.264 DVR Eight Camera Kit
The LT Surveillance Camera System Kit – H.264 DVR Eight Camera Kit is truly a great surveillance system for those who want to keep an eye on their homes or businesses. The cameras are good for use indoors or outdoors and have night vision capability.
The DVR in this kit makes it easy for you to view your cameras from any location. With a little knowledge about setting up port forwarding on your router, which can be garnered from a quick Google search, you’ll be able to watch what’s going on at your home or business anywhere in the world. You can view the cameras through a browser interface or on Windows Mobile, Symbian and iPhone! The DVR can also, depending on the recording resolution, record up to a month’s worth of footage uninterrupted . At the end of its recording time the DVR will overwrite itself. The storage in the DVR is a 500 GB hard drive and it will store plenty of footage. It will also send email alerts that you can configure in the configurartion menu. A very neat little piece of equipment. You can also configure it to record on motion so, in the right situation, you can save some of your hard drive space by only recording when you need it to.
This unit also has output triggers that you can wire into you alarm panel so that when motion is triggered it will set the alarm off.
The cameras that come with the kit are good for indoor and outdoor use. They have night vision and the manufacturer says they have 49ft effective range, but I would cut that in half just so as to not disappoint anyone. This is a very good system in my opinion and I would definitely get one for my house.
DSC PC5601 LED Status Module
The DSC PC5601 LED Status Module is a LED light that connects to your DSC Power Series Alarm System’s four wire keybus and gives you constant visible system status and can be mounted outside.
The 5601 is very simple to understand by using three colors to tell you if the system is armed, disarmed, or has an alarm in memory.
Green = System ready to arm
Red = Armed
Amber = System has been in alarm
Doesn’t get much simpler than that.
The DSC PC5601 LED Status Module is a quick, easy installation, and inexpensive add on to ANY of the DSC Power Series Alarm Systems and will prove to be a great asset to your Alarm System, especially if you are using wireless key chain remotes .
HAI C3 GSM Communicator
The HAI C3 is a great alternative GSM communicator for those who want to self monitor or have central station monitoring and don’t have a land-line phone line.
The C3 is the best thing we’ve found since for self-monitoring GSM communication since we started carrying the Dock N Talk module. This unit not only wires into your alarm panel like a phone line but you can also plug land-line telephones into it to make calls out over the cellphone frequency.
This unit accepts a SIM card that you provide either from a contract plan you have or from a pre-paid service plan. This allows you to have the system call out to you or a central station monitoring service.
You can view a video describing this module in detail HERE
Visonic DL-125C 2 Channel Voice Dialer
The Visonic DL-125C 2 channel voice dialer is an awesome addition to any alarm system. Most modern alarm panels have the ability to call out to phone numbers for self-monitoring. Most of the time when they call out the only thing that will happen is that the receiver of the call will get a caller ID of the phone number that the alarm system is connected to, but when they answer the call they most often will hear nothing or a sound that closely resembles a fax machine.
With the Visonic dialer users gain the abiltiy to have the system dial out to four phone numbers with a custom voice message, for each channel, recorded by the user in any language. This dialer has two channels which call out upon activation. The two channels report on fire and burlary. The dialer hooks into the sounder terminals and will dial out based upon which pulse is detected by the dialer. You will need a relay for each channel to activate the dialer.
I would recommend this for anyone who needs the comfort of actually hearing something when their system calls them.
Ademco 5800RP RF Wireless Repeater Module
The Ademco 5800RP RF Wireless Repeater Module is great for those who aren’t happy with the 200 ft. transmission range of their Honeywell Vista or Lynx alarm panels can use this to extend that range indefinitely.
A lot of people stray from purchasing the Honeywell hardwired or wireless panels because of the lack of range, but they often don’t know that that problem can be solved by adding this to their systems. This is one of the greatest additions to the Honeywell wireless line that I’ve seen for awhile.
At first, when I started in this field, I thought that the 5800RP was strictly for use with hardwired systems, but it is in fact a stand alone unit and comes with its own power source.
Listed below are the features and benefits of this module.
Features
- Extends the range of 5800 series of wireless devices
- Receives alarm, status and control messages from 5800 RF devices, and repeats these messages to the control panel via the primary receiver
