The GE Simon XT is a completely wireless alarm system that works well for people who choose not to use a monitoring service. The only thing you need is a landline or a cellular module such as the Doc N Talk.
The GE Simon XT will call four phone numbers upon alarm and is able to give a description of the zone that has been tampered, for example “Front Door” or “Back Door”. Not only does it have that capability but you can also call into it and arm or disarm the system via telephone.
The GE Simon XT is an all in one unit meaning the main control panel is built into the keypad. In cases like that we highly suggest that a second keypad be purchased for the system. You will want to hide the main system, keep it away from any main entrances. Due to the GE Simon XT being an all in one unit it becomes a little more vulnerable. If the burglar were to come in and find the main unit and destroy it the system will no longer function. That is where the second keypad comes in. The second Keypad can be put at a main entrance and allow the main system to be hidden so that those situations don’t occur.
The GE Simon XT covers doors/windows, motions, glass breaks, smokes, carbon monoxide detectors and one wired internal siren (other than the one that comes built into the system). This system can cover your entire house from Fire to Burglary to Medical and you can have it call you to report these things.
The DSC Alexor is the newest completely wireless system out on the market. The DSC Alexor is the only wireless system on the market today that has the main brain (control panel) separated from the Keypad. This feature makes this system the most secure system out on the market today. Why you ask? Now you don’t have to worry about purchasing a second keypad just so that you can hide your main system.
The DSC Alexor is the only wireless alarm system on the market that has a wireless indoor/outdoor siren with a built in strobe and temperature sensor. This makes things a lot easier for people who want a loud system. On any other wireless alarm system to reach the decibels this outdoor siren reaches you would have to add additional power supply and wire it back to the system or add a low-current draw wired siren.
The DSC Alexor has the capability to support 32 wireless zones. The definition of a zone on an alarm system is a door/window contact, a motion, a glass break, and other components are their own zone. This system also has the capability to use up to 4 additional wireless sirens be it the WT4901 2-Way Indoor wireless siren or the WT4911B indoor/outdoor wireless siren. You can do a combination of the two just not to exceed four total sirens. The DSC Alexor is very easy to program and easy to install. This system works well in homes or businesses.
People often ask how they should monitor their system if they don’t have a land line at their premise and they don’t want to use a monitoring service. In that case we refer people to the Cell Phone Dialer Module Dock N Talk Station with Bluetooth Module.
The Dock N Talk is a cell phone dialer module that pairs with any cell phone that is blue tooth capable. It provides a dial tone for the system to call out on. That way when the alarm is triggered it uses the cell phone to place the call. Keep in mind that the cell phone can not go more than 50ft away from the Docking Station. The cell phone that you choose to put with the Dock N Talk must be dedicated to it.
The Dock N Talk pairs nicely with the GE Simon XT wireless Alarm System, or with any alarm system that has a voice dialer. So if you are looking to self monitor and do not have a land line the Dock N Talk is the perfect solution.
