DSC Impassa Wireless Alarm Systems

The DSC Impassa Self-contained Wireless Alarm System is DSC’s newest offering and is actually the new and improved version of DSC’s old 9047 model. Just like DSC’s 9047; the Impassa is in all-in-one unit, but that’s pretty much where the comparison ends!

You can use all of the accessories with the Impassa that you can use with the Alexor including the Alexor’s add-on wireless keypads; the WT5500. You can also use any of the other bi-directional devices such as the WT4911B Wireless Outdoor Siren, DSC-WT4901 2-Way Wireless Indoor Siren, DSC-WT4989 Wireless 2-Way Key Fob, etc.

DSC just keeps making them better every time!!

Some of the features of the Impassa include:

Built-in 2-way audio VOX and push to- talk alarm communication via phone line and cellular

The Honeywell 7847i IP Communicator

Honeywell 7847i IP Communicator

Honeywell 7847i IP Communicator

We have now added the Honeywell 7847i IP Communicator to our site!! This IP communicator will work for anyone who wants central station monitoring and has a broadband internet connection.

This piece of equipment is very handy if you want central station monitoring service but you don’t have a land-line phone line and/or a GSM cellular communicator will not receive good enough signal in the location that you’re putting it in.

You can also, through Alarmnet service, use this for download programming and Total Connect monitoring add-on service. Total Connect will allow you to remotely/access and control your alarm system and receive notifications of alarm events all through the use of the 7847i.

You can use this as your primary reporting option or as a backup to your phone line. A lot of people are foregoing land-line telephones for VOIP and the Honeywell 7847i IP Communicator makes having monitoring without land-line service an option.

This unit uses 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard or optional 1,024 bit encryption with two-way authentication making reporting through the internet a safe alternative and you never have to worry about your information being compromised. The 7847i also has dial capture features which allows a non-ECP enabled alarm panel to transfer information from it’s phone-line terminals to the IP device and then they are routed to your central station.

The 7847i is also tamper resistant because of the tamper switch under the cover. If someone gets the bright idea to open the 7847i to try and disable it; a tamper signal is automatically sent if you have monitoring.

All-in-all this is a great choice for an alternative to land-line monitoring. You can check out the specifications of the 7847i HERE

Honeywell Tuxedo 6280i Talking Touch Screen Keypad

Honeywell TUXEDO 6280i White Color Graphic Touchscreen Keypad with Voice

Honeywell TUXEDO 6280i White Color Graphic Touchscreen Keypad with Voice

The Honeywell Tuxedo 6280i Talking Touch Screen Keypad is just another great product from Honeywell Security. The future of security begins here inside the TUXEDO!!

The TUXEDO touch screen keypad can not only control your Vista series alarm system, but it can do a number of other cool things. The screen features a 16 million color display and has graphic icons that will let you integrate with Honeywell’s Total Connect monitoring service. You can also leave messages for family and friends via the built-in microphone, load video and pictures for slideshows.

The keypad has a built in Z-Wave controller that you can use to control any of Z-Wave’s full line of home automation products. You can control anything from door locks, lighting, blinds, etc. That way you can, if you have IP cameras and a Z-Wave door lock, look at your TUXEDO and see who’s at the front door and unlock it for them right at your keypad!

As I mentioned in the above paragraph you can also use the TUXEDO to view up to 16 IP cameras that are connected on the same network as the TUXEDO. You can do single view or view four at a time. You don’t have to use just Honeywell IP cameras either. The 6280i will let you view some IP cameras on your network. You can find a list of compatible IP cameras HERE.

The keypad has an ethernet port on the back that you plug a LAN cable into and connect to your router. You can pull the local IP address of the TUXEDO up in any browser on any computer in the local network. Not only can you view the system on your local network, but with knowledge of port-forwarding you can also remotely view your keypad from another location besides your home.

I love this keypad and would recommend it to anyone wanting to take their Honeywell alarm system to the next level.

Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector

The Honeywell 5821 Wireless Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector is a new addition to our line up of Honeywell wireless products.

This is very handy little unit that allows you to monitor the temperature in the location that you are using it in. It has five different temperature detection ranges and they are as follows:

• Cold Temperature Detector 45° F
– When temperature drops below
45° F for >10 minutes
• Warm Temperature Detector 75° F
– When temperature rises above
75° F for >10 minutes
• Hot Temperature Detector 95° F
– When temperature rises above
95° F for >10 minutes
• Refrigerator Failure Detector 42° F
– When temperature rises above
42° F for >30 minutes
• Freezer Failure Detector 10° F
– When temperature rises above
10° F for >30 minutes

The Honeywell 5821 also has a remote temperature probe, the T280R, that you can wire into the 5821 that allows you to put the extension probe in a place like a freezer or refrigerator to monitor if the location has a temperature drop. Never lose food to spoilage from temperature failure again!!

Not only can you monitor temperature with the Honeywell 5821, but you can, with the addition of the 470PB probe, use this to detect flood conditions in areas such as basements, bathrooms, and anywhere else that a flood condition could prove disastrous.

A great add-on to your system!! Once again, Honeywell alarm systems are for just catching burglars anymore.

The GE Simon XT Starter Kit Version 1.X

The GE Simon XT Starter Kit Version 1.X

The GE Simon XT Starter Kit Version 1.X

We have acquired a lot of the original Simon XT version 1 panels at a great price!! The Version 1 panels are what GE first came out with when they introduced the Simon XT as an upgrade from the Simon 3.

The Simon XT version 1 is a 40 zone, totally wireless system that makes installing a breeze. The panel voice announces all alarm conditions that occur. This panel also has the ability, if a land-line phone line is wired into it, to call four numbers for self-monitoring purposes. This means that if you want the panel to call out to your cell phone instead of a central station monitoring service; then you can do it. When the panel calls out to your cell phone; it will voice aanounce just like it does at the panel itself.

Learning devices into the programming of the panel is a snap. All you do is either send a signal from the device that you’re trying to learn into the Simon XT or input the serial number into the panel via the keypad.

GE has many wireless devices for this panel ranging anywhere from burglary devices to fire protection. We usually recommend this system to people who aren’t very tech savvy because it is the easiest system we have in our stock to set up. Perfect for the elderly because of its ease of setup, use, and the fact that it speaks what is going on with it!

PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR

PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR

PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR

The PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR is one of latest and greatest!! This is a sneaky way to keep tabs on your household. This security camera with built-in DVR capabilities looks just like a normal PIR motion detector.

This motion detector is an actual motion detector!! It will trigger upon movement. It can be compared to a hunter trap camera in the way that it works. The unit accepts a multi-media SD card. It will accept up to a 32 GB SD card to take still photos and video footage.

You can also continuously record as well with this tiny security guard!! Doing this might eat up some space on the SD card, but it’s capable of doing it. This feature could be used for those 2 hour shopping excursions or when you go across town to visit family.

The recording resolution of this unit is a whopping 1280 x 720. Which means that it can be easily and clearly viewed on a bigger monitor with no distortion. The PIR DVR w/ Remote DVRPIR comes with a USB cable so that you can transfer footage and motion captured pictures directly to your computer.

All-in-all this is a great, inexpensive way to keep an eye on your premises without breaking your wallet on a big security camera setup.

WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator

WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator

WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator

The WiFi IP BAT Broadband Alarm Transmitter Communicator is the latest release from IPDatatel. This works just like their regular IPBAT but instead of connecting the panel to a router via ethernet cable; this version is a two piece unit. One piece wires into your control panel and then you take the wireless gateway and attach it to your router. This will give the module the ability to communicate back and forth without a long run of ethernet cable.

It gives you all of the functionality of the original IP BAT and none of the hassle of running ethernet cable through the house.

You still get the ability to go online and sign in, through any web browser, and set up your contact list, review your systems event log, and access the system through the virtual keypad.

The contact list you set up can be contacted by automated phone call, email, or text message and whichever method you choose for notifications; you will see or hear exactly what is being triggered.

The virtual keypad that you get can be used for anything that you can do on the real keypad such as programming, bypassing zones, arming, disarming, adding user codes, deleting user codes, etc. It even resembles the keypad that is on your system.

You can also download an app for your iPhone or Android that works as a simple numeric keypad that you can use as a key fob to arm and disarm your system. Say that you get down the street and remembered that you forgot to arm your system. Well, before the WiFi-IPBAT you had to drive all the way back home and arm it. Not anymore. With the app for your smart phone, all you have to do is pull out your phone, go to the app, and arm your system.

This is a really great product and we have quite a few people using it now. We can’t wait to see more developments from IPDatatel in the future because being such a young company; they have really come out with a great device for today’s technologically savvy alarm system owner.
